Call to Order

The Charlevoix Township Board meeting was called to order by Nancy Rajewski with Board Members Christiansen, Witherspoon and Williams present. Chairperson Chuck Center was absent.

The minutes of the Regular January 13, 2020 Board meeting and the February 20, 2020 special meeting were accepted.

Financial Report

The financial report was given by Treasurer Williams. As of the end of February, the General Fund was at $760,073.38; Water Fund $148,801.96; the Fire Department $29,948.90; Trust and Agency $5,316.82; Fire Department Bond Retirement fund $95,815.26; and the Fire Station Construction Account $816.92.

Departments

Water Department: Completed the annual pumpage report for 2019. The Township pumped 8.3 million gallons less in 2019 than in 2018. Discussed replacing the siding for the pump house at the Country Club and completing it “in house”. The cost is to complete will be around $2,000.

Fire Department: The pancake breakfast had a good turn out with around 300 people and raised around $3,100. Structure fire last week.

New Business

Discussed the repair of the 2006 Ford Truck. Bids for a new truck were also discussed, with a cost of approximately $54,921.55. Christianson made the Motion, with Williams supporting, to approve the purchase of the new truck. Motion carried unanimously. (M-05-20)

Witherspoon made the Motion, with Christianson supporting, to approve the repair the well house. Motion carried unanimously. (M-06-20)

Supervisor Update: None

Correspondence: Numerous correspondence from the State regarding the elections.

Christianson made the Motion, with Williams supporting, to allow the Clerk to pay bills presented. Motion carried unanimously. (M-07-20)

Public Comments: Attorney Scott Howard thanked the Board for their service.

EXECUTIVE ORDER: Governor announced an executive order called Stay Home Stay Safe closing all non essential businesses. That includes Charlevoix Township Hall. Our water department and fire station personnel will continue to work.
